Chaats from central india

So i am back after a long sabbatical of nearly 5 years .

Well This time my focus is not delhi but about 1200 kms away from delhi.

The place is balaghat in Madhya Pradesh which incidentally is my wife’s Home Town.

I visited a famous chaat shop called Asati chaat which serves chaats and other fast food.

I opted for golgappa chaat which is different from the golgappas served in delhi and around. Asati chaat served golgappas filled with hot chickpeas and potato which made the golgappas delicious and different from delhi varients .

Enjoy the pics of lip smacking papdi chaats and golgappas from asati chaat and in the meantime I will be back with another post on one of the legendary chaat makers of balaghat 😀😀😀😀

Location : gondia road, balaghat

foodie bliss at amritsar

gone to Amritsar with my wife for a holy trip but it turned out to be more of  a culinary trip then a holy trip. we stayed in hotel bang oppsite harmandir saheb ( golden temple for the laymen).   The breakfast served in shatbadi was nice enough. but the main treat was the  amritsari kulche chole we had in the road leading to jailyanwala bagh.  The ambiance was nothing to talk of but the kulche more then made for the ambiance , we tasted aloo , panner and the huge mix kulcha with two dollops of butter on it .

what a treat it was and after then on the road end we treated ourselves to gulab juman  and jalebi which was  really out of the world.

next day we had poori chana at  a shop again on jalianwala road and the pooris were amazingly taste.

For dessert we choose the matka kulfi from roadside guys and nit surprisingly it was one of the best kulfi’s i ever had.

we ended our foodie/holy trip with the langer at gurdwara , and the tastiest  daal and kheer  was in the langer .

visit to the mecca of street food “Old Delhi”

alookitikki2

The best thing about the  street food in old delhi is every nook and corner  has a surprise of the  foodie. just check out  the aloo tikki walla guy just at the start of chawri bazar . The melt in mouth tikkies were just a combo of tikki and chutnies and nothing else but the flavour and texture were awesome.

anyways  if you guys are on a culinary trip to old delhi , just check out  the diffrent varieties of  chat with “ashok  chat ” right at the exit of metro .   being a delhite have eaten street food all my life but have found nothing except  the old drab ” bhalla papri”   at chat shop but  ” purani dilli”  chat shops have 10 different varieties of chat ranging from kalmi bada to kachori chat .

more on this later ………………………………

why don’t  you guys get back to me and tell me about street food you loved
